Are you too busy to call? It is true in real life as blogging. If you do not have time to call it is very unlikely to ever happen because it takes time. When was the last time you called a friend just to talk? When was the last time you read other blogs and wrote a great blog post on one or more of them?
This is not about leaving comments (leave a response, a second or two) - but actually have and work in the call. That means listening to what others say and to respond thoughtfully in a way that goes deeper, added value and says something meaningful - this takes time and if you are not a priority then you have probably not to the inch
Prioritize your comment strategy - encouraging comments on your own blog to write posts on other blogs to the conversation in motion even more.
Make time to read other blogs in your area of expertise. Leave many comments on blogs to create a trackback to your blog - Google loves inbound links and keep them even better if they are relevant.
When you read a great post on the blog of someone else, take the time to post on your WordPress blog. When you post the exact reference URL into your blog, you make an automatic response to another blog, which in turn give you an incoming link.
The time for talk, you encourage your community and make great friendships with other bloggers - perhaps even lead to a number of joint ventures!
